Late to this podcast but OMG!! 12 v10!!!!
So i have been struggling with this. High counts 12 v10 and I am certain I’m going to bust out. BS says hit. no deviation says to stand but you KNOW you’re going to bust.
How many people stand on this 12. I did once and people at the table were all “you should have hit that”. I had max bet out and did not want to bust out. Yeah, it gets attention but damn it’s hard busting these high count 12v10s.
Positive count mostly makes the rock and hard place even harder than usual. Unless you have seen the next card or dealer hole card, the probability of the next card being a T is exactly the same as the probability of the dealer having a T in the hole. In the extreme you will always bust if you hit, but you will always lose to 20 if you stand. You gain no value by standing unless being in the game a few seconds longer provides psychological benefit. Most traditional counts do not place much value to density of 8 and 9, knowledge of which is what would add the most value to making this decision. If there is an index value for most traditional counts, it would be extreme and still not add much value..
